Dual consciousness is a theoretical concept in neuroscience. It is proposed that it is possible that a person may develop two separate conscious entities within their one brain after undergoing a corpus callosotomy
Right Hemisphere is the eponymous album by the free jazz collective quartet consisting of Rob Brown on alto sax, Matthew Shipp on piano, Joe Morris on bass and Whit Dickey on drums. It was recorded in 2006 and released on the French RogueArt label. Right Hemisphere has been in existence since 1984 when Shipp and Brown first arrived in New York.
Home L Left-Hemisphere Consciousness. LEFT-HEMISPHERE CONSCIOUSNESS. A theory first proposed by Michael Gazzaniga, a cognitive neuropsychologist which implies the left hemisphere in the brain not only controls speech (in general) but also a person's consciousness. Related Psychology Terms. Right-Hemisphere Consciousness.
right-hemisphere consciousness the hypothesis that the right cerebral hemisphere of the brain is a conscious system in its own right, even though it typically has a minor role in spoken communication (compare left-hemisphere consciousness). The right hemisphere is postulated to function in a holistic, nonlinear manner, specialized for spatial and suprasegmental (prosodic) perception. The hypothesis arose from Roger Sperry’s work with split-brain patients in the 1960s and was widely popularized.
