Horace Andy (born Horace Hinds, 19 February 1951) is a Jamaican roots reggae songwriter and singer, known for his distinctive vocals and hit songs such as "Government Land", as well as "Angel", "Spying Glass" and "Five Man Army" with English trip hop duo Massive Attack. He is also famous for a cover version of "Ain't No Sunshine". Andy is often described as one of the most respected and influential singers in Jamaica.

The 1990s found Horace Andy's career on the upswing once again. With Massive Attack championing his cause and featuring him regularly on their albums, and his own writing revitalized, the singer enjoyed a high profile with a new audience. Having classic productions for Clement Dodd, Bunny Lee, Tappa Zukie, and Keith Hudson under his belt, Andy teamed up with London dub producer/Ariwa label owner Neil "Mad Professor" Fraser for Roots and Branches

The end result was the classic In the Light album and its equally seminal dub companion remixed by Prince Jammy. The pair also released a stream of excellent singles including "Youths of Today," the fabulous re-recorded "Fever," the guitar-laced "Do You Love My Music," and "Government Land. Andy next set up his own label, Rhythm, and inaugurated it with a new version of "Don't Let Problems Get You Down. The year 1998 was further enhanced with a new album for Bushwackies, the sublime Horace Andy Sings Bob Marley album. Meanwhile, Massive Attack had launched their own label, Melankolic, and released Skylarking, a compilation of Andy's more difficult to find hits from across his long career.
