Track 4 - Choirshell, beautiful! However, the album is a cohesive work and asks to be listened to without distraction from beginning to end. Beautiful music, beautifully recorded. an important 21st century artist. Reply Notify me Helpful.

Electronic composer Bernard Xolotl was born in France in 1951. As a teen, he was introduced to electronic music through the works of musique concrete composers like Pierre Henry and Pierre Schaeffer, although he found the early recordings of Pink Floyd to be more inspirational. At age 18, he realized that he needed more freedom to live and express his ideas than the one that France could provide him with. With the latter, he released the album "Prophecy" in 1980. During 1981, in San Francisco, Xolotl worked on many projects with virtuoso violinist Daniel Kobialka and the record "Procession" was released in 1982. Tristany" followed in 1997 and "Time Lapses" in collaboration with Olivier Masselot was released in March 2009

Bernard Xolotl's beautiful Tristany album is finally available for digital download! I am writing this review as both a friend and a fan. I have known Bernard since 1980, when we met while both of us were living in California. In fact Bernard helped me get started recording with electronic keyboards. (I remember the first time that I visited him...he had reel-to-reel recorders on which he had extended the tape from the play-head, out across the room, then back again to the the record-head...this was how he achieved some of the echo-effect magic heard on his early records). Tristany a beautiful album. I could listen to Track 3- "a la Derive II" over and over again. Oceanwaves of modulation upon modulation...you never tire of it. Track 4 - Choirshell, beautiful! However, the album is a cohesive work and asks to be listened to without distraction from beginning to end. Beautiful music, beautifully recorded.
