Tommy Boyce - Tommy Boyce mp3 album

Sidney Thomas "Tommy" Boyce (September 29, 1939 – November 23, 1994) and Bobby Hart (born Robert Luke Harshman; February 18, 1939) were a prolific American songwriting duo, best known for the songs they wrote for The Monkees. Hart's father was a church minister and he himself served in the Army after leaving high school. Upon discharge, he travelled to Los Angeles seeking a career as a singer. Boyce was separately pursuing a career as a singer

Boyce & Hart, best known as frequent songwriters for the Monkees, were among the more successful West Coast pop/rock composers of the late '60s, also landing some material with other artists and making some records of their own, including the hit "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight. Only six of these 18 tracks were recorded by the Boyce & Hart duo (another was recorded by Dolenz, Jones, Boyce & Hart).

Tommy Boyce was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, and lived in England, Memphis, LA and Nashville. It was unpublished at the time of his death. Don’t know if it did get published. Can’t find that book, but I did find one called, How to Write a Hit Song, and Sell it by Tommy here.

Tommy Boyce, part of the singing and songwriting duo of Boyce and Hart who wrote "Last Train to Clarksville" and other hits for the Monkees, has shot himself to death at his home. He was 55. Mr. Boyce's wife, Carolyn, found his body on Wednesday. He left a note, but the police would not disclose its contents. Although best known for their songwriting, Mr. Boyce and his partner, Bobby Hart, also recorded some of their songs and had a Top 10 hit with "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight" in 1967.
