Icarus the Owl are the archetypal gap in the market. Avoiding the over-simplification of ‘what would happen if genre X met genre Y"’, the Portland quartet create a gorgeous blend of pop sensibilities and technical accomplishment with a ton of heart to hold the pieces together. On Rearm Circuits, no unfamiliar ground is trodden - which may come as a disappointment to the more prog-oriented section of their fanbase - but what they do (with no small amount of ease) is cut a very fine cross-section of the composite parts that make them so appealing in the first place

In 2014, the band wrote and recorded their third full-length studio album Icarus the Owl, which was released on February 4, 2014 through Interlace Audio and was produced, mixed, and mastered by Kris Crummett and Mike Sacco. On June 30, 2015, it was announced that the band had signed to Blue Swan Records (owned by Will Swan of Dance Gavin Dance, Sianvar and Secret Band) and were recording their fourth studio album set to be released in late 2015

Portland progressive rock outfit Icarus The Owl have announced their new album Rearm Circuits will be out on December 1st via Blue Swan Records. Today, the band have premiered their brand new track, Failed Transmissions via Alternative Press. Late 90’s Fat wreck and Epitaph bands were my lifeblood. As they gear up for the release of their 5th studio album, Rearm Circuits, Icarus The Owl was put to the test both personally and musically during the making of the album. From being on tour in Paris during the tragic terrorist attacks to taking an unplanned 7 month hiatus, Icarus has been put through the ringer and is ready to rearm their circuits, so to speak. So much has happened to us in the last two years.
