Tony Terran: American trumpet player and session musician. He was part of The Wrecking Crew, which was a group of session musicians in Los Angeles, California, who earned wide acclaim in the 1960s. Trumpeter Tony Terran, the last surviving member of the Desi Arnaz orchestra seen and heard on the fabled CBS sitcom I Love Lucy, has died. Terran went on to collaborate with Ball on her subsequent TV shows and played on dozens of theme songs and film soundtracks. The versatile Terran also performed or recorded with artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Linda Ronstadt, Peggy Lee, Elvis Presley, Diana Ross, Ray Charles and Barbra Streisand and was a featured soloist for composers/arrangers like John Williams, Lalo Schifrin, Elmer Bernstein, Jerry Goldsmith, Henry Mancini and Nelson Riddle.

Background information. Anthony (Tony) Terran. 1926-05-30)May 30, 1926. Terran received the Most Valuable Player award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in 1974. Terran was in high school when he started working on live radio shows in Buffalo, NY. In 1944, he arrived in Los Angeles after touring with Horace Heidt.
