Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix mp3 album

Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is the fourth studio album by French indie pop band Phoenix. It was released on 25 May 2009 by V2 Records. While the band's previous work enjoyed a moderate underground following, the release of Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix drew the attention of a more mainstream audience. In the US, Phoenix began a promotional tour including performances on several late night talk shows. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix continued to gain momentum with the increased exposure of the tour

Realigned with Philippe Zdar, the half of Cassius who mixed United, Phoenix make adjustments on the polarizing characteristics of their second and third albums - the pokey and occasionally listless Alphabetical, the jagged and tune-deficient It's Never Been Like That - with some of the most direct and enjoyable songs they've made to date. The two opening songs, the bopping "Lisztomania" and the buzzing "1901," are so immediate and prone to habitual play that the remainder of the album is bound to be neglected.

With their fourth album, Phoenix reference both composers and hone in on an elusive target somewhere between Mozart's formal wonders and Listz's dramatic flair. While the album's 10 songs are arranged and executed with virtuoso pop-rock precision, they chronicle nothing but angst, confusion, disappointment, and despair. Romantic; not disgusting yet," sings frontman Thomas Mars on opener "Lisztomania", sounding like a madman with two tiny creatures whispering into each ear. Mars keeps this treacherous divide in mind throughout Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, and the rest of the record successfully avoids mush while keeping its beating heart intact. And the issue of thematic directness is especially important to Phoenix- this is an established indie band writing songs about love that are armed with hooks primed for a mainstream embrace.

Listen free to Phoenix – Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (Lisztomania, 1901 and more). Hi Everyone, Hope all is well as we roll into another weekend. We obviously couldn't help noticing that the record has leaked early and that some of you have already heard it. We're happy to hear everybody is enjoying the tracks. We know some people download.

Previous listeners of Phoenix will find little difference initially between Wolfgang and their 2006 work, It’s Never Been Like That. While most of Wolfgang retains Phoenix’s relentless energy and effervescent melodies, the album as a whole feels more fleshed out, more organic sounding than INBLT, which at times sounded mechanical and clashing.

This album is going to be for Rock what The 'ninth of Beethoven' for classical music was,-if radio stations would play it some more- so Phoenix has chosen a very good title. An outstanding album. Reply Notify me 2 Helpful. LP (12" album, 33 rpm), Includes Download Card. Phoenix Format: Vinyl. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix EP. "Please retry". The whole album clocks in at under 40 minutes, which is almost a nice throwback to the days of the original LP's. And I keep using the term "album," because this really does play like an album-meant to be listened to from beginning to end, which again is almost throwback concept in today's landscape of pervasive singles downloading. If you are not familiar with Phoenix outside of their hit "1901," don't stress
