Cape Mountain Zebra is a subspecies of the Mountain Zebra that is unique in many ways. Its white stripes are typically more narrow than its dark stripes, resulting in overall darker appearance. Unlike other species of Zebra, the Cape Mountain Zebra is unique in its sexual dimorphism – the females are bigger than males. Cape Mountain Zebra is one of the most exclusive kinds of zebra. The daily rates, and perhaps the price of a few other trophies (few hunters go to Africa to hunt just one species), will have to be added to the price of the complete hunt.

Zebra's mainstream debut on Atlantic Records was in 1983 with their eponymous album, produced by Jack Douglas and featuring the singles "Tell Me What You Want" and "Who's Behind The Door?" The band continued to tour throughout the 1980s, but took a temporary break in the early 1990s after being dropped by Atlantic Records. Randy Jackson formed his solo band Randy Jackson's China Rain, and released its only album in the year 1991. Zebra finally reunited in 1994 and released Zebra IV in 2003, their first album of all-new material since 1986.

Seattle's own Zebra Hunt opened the show, who are just sounding better and better every time I see them. Walking up to the Vera Project that night, I heard music echoing through the Seattle Center corridors. Aw, they're playing Polaris for pre-show music," I thought to myself, as I sprinted down the stairwell. Nope, turns out Zebra Hunt had just started their set, but their melodic style definitely calls to mind college-rock bands like Miracle Legion and The Feelies
