Guidance is the sixth studio album by American instrumental rock band Russian Circles, released on August 5, 2016 through Sargent House. The album was recorded and produced at GodCity Studio by Kurt Ballou. Guidance was met with critical acclaim.
Atrocity is a German death metal band, and Hallucinations is their debut. It's impossible to describe a death metal album without first saying something about the genre itself. Death metal bands are usually constructed along the lines of a speed metal band: two very technically accomplished guitarists, a bass player who can match the guitarists for speed and introduce very occasional bits of melody, a drummer whose hands and feet are automatic weapons, and - here's where the road forks - a vocalist who can maintain a guttural.
Hallucinations is a concept album. All tracks tell the story of a girl's miserable life . This record, Hallucinations, is an album that, while definitely flawed, is also an album I find to be impressively ambitious for its time; not that many death metal bands had incorporated such a progressive and technical sensibility as Atrocity had at this point in time (the closest comparison is maybe Atheist and even then they sounded nothing alike), nor were most. DM bands ambitious enough to have their full length debut be a concept album. The songwriting is definitely great, exceptional at times.
