It can be considered a concept album: during the 20th century, an imaginary bank in which history is stored, loses data from the 15th century ("Evaporazione"), causing people forgetting how to govern the world.

Maledetti (Maudits) is the fifth album of the jazz fusion band Area and was released in 1976. This is the first album in 17 years, Area had been in hiatus from 1983 to 1993, they first reunited as a trio consisting of Fariselli and Tavolazzi. Tavolazzi, after the first shows, left the band. Much like the previous studio album "Tic&Tac" from 17 years earlier, this album is much more of a jazz/fusion product than Area's classic sound; this is the only album with bass player Paolo dalla Porta.
