Ciaramella Instrumental And Vocal Ensemble - Sacred And Secular Music From Renaissance Germany mp3 album

For the German Renaissance world was full of individual musicians and ensembles who elaborated on preexisting models, much as a jazz musician would. Such anthologies as the Buxheim Organ Book and various instrumental ensemble collections are full of imaginative instrumental treatments of tunes imported from somewhere else, and this disc (of essentially scholarly origin, but not a bit less musical for it) gives a good idea of what went on.

Their playing is clean, and the intonation is perfect as far as I can tell. The individual pieces are scored for varying instrumental forces, as to keep the listener engaged.

Ciaramella recorded a wonderful album for Naxos titled Sacred and Secular Music from Renaissance Germany, released in January, 2006. Ciaramella has since performed in concert halls and in music festivals on three continents, and now makes its home in Los Angeles. For more information on Ciaramella please visit ww. arlungrecords. com and ww. iaramella. All the instruments used in this recording are copied from original instruments still extant, or recreated from paintings, treatises, or in some instances even instrument cases built to protect instruments long missing. Echoes of this trope live on in children’s songs like Mary Had a Little Lamb, and in the modern duality of the name Madonna in modern culture.

Ciaramella Ensemble brings to life Medieval and early Renaissance music from historical events and manuscripts. As first runner-up in the 2003 Early Music America competition, Ciaramella recorded its first CD for Naxos entitled "Sacred and Secular Music from Renaissance Germany," which was released in January 2006. Their second CD under the Yarlung Records label, Ciaramella Dances, has received critical acclaim.
