Disappointed they were in the record store and telling their story to the clerk. He told them to wait right there. He walked to the other end of the store and spoke to a man. He came back with front row tickets to the show and gave them to them saying they were from Hanks manager. They got to see the show and briefly got to meet the man. Needless to say I was raised on Hanks music.
Ernest Dale Tubb (February 9, 1914 – September 6, 1984), nicknamed the Texas Troubadour, was an American singer and songwriter and one of the pioneers of country music. In the 1960s, Tubb was well known for having one of the best bands in country music history. The band included lightning-fingered Leon Rhodes, who later appeared on TV's Hee Haw as the guitarist in the show's band. Born Ernest Dale Tubb, this singer was one of the pioneers of country music. He was born in 1914 and was known as the Texas Troubadour. He pioneered the honky tonk style of music that became popular in country music. Even today people emulate the way that Tubb and his band played their style of music. Ernest is also well known for having pioneered the record shop in Nashville which still bears his name. He released 92 singles of which 6 made it to number one on the National Charts.
