On July 18, 1953, Presley first went to the Memphis Recording Service at the Sun Record Company, now commonly known as Sun Studio. The 1992 album The King of Rock 'n' Roll: The Complete 50s Masters contains a fragment (1:03) of an alternate take in a slower, more country style. This take was originally released on bootleg in 1974, having been located at Sun Records many years after Presley left for RCA. Blue Moon. On January 27, 1956, the first RCA single, "Heartbreak Hotel" b/w "I Was the One" was released, giving Elvis a nationwide breakthrough.

Heartbreak Hotel (оригинал Elvis Presley). Отель разбитых сердец (перевод Алекс). Well, since my baby left me, С тех пор как моя крошка бросила меня, I found a new place to dwell. It's down at the end of lonely street. Оно в конце одинокой улицы. В Отеле разбитых сердец. You make me so lonely baby, Мне так одиноко без тебя, крошка, I get so lonely, Мне так одиноко, I get so lonely I could die.

The March 1956 release that brought Elvis to the masses. This 1956 collection was Presley's first proper album (and arguably rock's first great LP), a release that both broke him to a national audience and became an enduring piece of pop-cultural iconography. Anchored by take-no-prisoners covers of fellow Sun rockabilly pioneer Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes," Ray Charles's "I Got a Woman," and Little Richard's "Tutti Frutti," it's an album where Presley forcefully hammers nascent rock 'n' roll into his own sultry image.

The first of Elvis' RCA sides yielded one song, "Heartbreak Hotel," that seemed a potential single, but which no one thought would sell, and a few tracks that would be good enough for an album, if there were one. But no one involved knew anything for sure about this music. Seventeen days later, "Heartbreak Hotel" was released, and for about a month it did nothing - then it began to move, and then Elvis appeared on television, and had a number one pop single  . Elvis Presley became the first rock & roll album to reach the number one spot on the national charts, and RCA's first million dollar-earning pop album.

From the Album Elvis Forever (2015). Elvis Forever Lyrics.
