Crown Of Autumn - The Treasures Arcane mp3 album

The Treasures Arcane. Of quenchless radiance twinkle the jewels set onto thy crown Each one's a will on the unique diadem of tyranny Cherish the untrodden lands of almightiness in thine heart Drenched the exquisite nectar of miracles it forever will pulse. Hid far from unworthy profane eyes the Sacred Chalice waits Guarded by the Goiden Dragon, the protector of virtue Only the valiant can tame the claw and the vehement flame Olny the puissante can drink from the Cup which grants immortality. The blackest bell have toled, a sign that thruh the ages Draped in awe the kingdoms of the world Abhorred words sound to my ears like luscious rhimes Pernicious revelations pour from the pulpit of the Antichrist.

Crown of Autumn is one of my absolute favourites of old. I first stumbled across The Treasures Arcane back at the time when I was first trying my wings on band such as Immortal, Summoning, Mortiis and Bal-Sagoth. Back then I quickly fell for the grandiose fantasy inspired lyrics as well as the mixture of catchy melodies and darker undertones. The variation of the album is one of its strongest parts. From the bombastic and quite heavy opening of Towers Of Doleful Triumph spawns a softer more moody song that lingers on and transfers into the baleful and sinister Nocturnal Gold Pt I: In Ageless Slumber. The vocals vary from a raspy and orc-like quality to a more solemn and soothing style and the symbiosis between the two in unison works wonders. The guitars are similarly varied in styles ranging from slow almost heavy metal riffs to the playful acoustic pieces suited for a campfire as well as for speakers.

An excerpt:Crown of Autumn is one of my absolute favourites of old. I first stumbled across “The Treasures Arcane” back at the time when I was first trying my wings on band such as Immortal, Summoning, Mortiis and Bal-Sagoth. Back then I quickly fell for the grandiose fantasy inspired lyrics as well as the mixture of catchy melodies and darker undertones. Bands came and went and my ravenous hunger brought more and more influences into my life, yet those early albums stayed with me and remain to this day one of my strongest links to the past. Now repacked, remastered and rereleased “The Treasures Arcane” are back complete and fortified with the earlier demo tape “Ruin” which I sadly never got a chance to enjoy in the olden days.“The Treasure Arcane” is quite a different tale compared to the band’s newest release “Splendours from the Dark” and the addition of “Ruins” throws it even more into a unique position as a time-lost fragment of where Crown of Autumn began and how far they have come since those first steps. The sound is dark and has that wonderful sensation of grittiness attached to it like the harsh smoky lingering taste of a good Islay. Despite the remastering and remixing the songs never feel overly polished and remain strong and dauntless in the delivery of its playful dark folk metal. The variation of the album is one of its strongest parts. From the bombastic and quite heavy opening of “Towers Of Doleful Triumph” spawns a softer more moody song that lingers on and transfers into the baleful and sinister “Nocturnal Gold Pt I: In Ageless Slumber”. The synthesizers are old but majestic and therefore quite awesome, the song “Forlorn Elven Realms” remind me of all that is good with the earlier videogame soundtracks and really made for a nice outro on the old album.http://heathenharvest.org/2012/02/04/crown-of-autumn-the-treasures-arcane-transfigured-edition/
