The Beach Boys & Jan & Dean - Californian Beach Boys mp3 album
The Beach Boys is the 25th studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on June 10, 1985. Produced by Steve Levine, the album is the band's first recording after the drowning death of founding member Dennis Wilson. It was also the band's first album to be recorded digitally and the last released by James William Guercio's Caribou Records
The Beach Boys/Jan & Dean. CD - K-Tel Distribution. Back to Back is budget-priced disc that is split between five selected hits from two of the most popular surf groups of the early '60s, the Beach Boys and Jan and Dean. The sound quality isn't great, nor is the song selection - it's hard to tell why these songs were chosen for this collection. The production values are so cheap, there are almost no listeners that would consider this inexpensive disc to be a bargain.
20/20 is the 15th studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on February 10, 1969. The LP was named for being their 20th overall album release. Much of it consists of outtakes from earlier albums. It reached number 3 on UK record charts and number 68 in the US. Brian Wilson was absent during most of the album's recording after admitting himself into a psychiatric hospital, requiring brothers Carl and Dennis to retrieve several outtakes he had recorded years earlier.
The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean may be "super acts," but I wouldn't call this a "best-of," nor would I call it a "great" CD. It doesn't have the hit recordings that you're probably familiar with, and are probably looking for -- which is also the case with the other BB/J&D "combo" CDs out there, or the ones I'm familiar with, anyway (though for some reason J&D's hit recording of "Heart And Soul" does appear on some of them). The contents of this CD and of most of those others are pretty much alike. This compilation of the Beach Boys and Jan and Dean is a bit short, but every second of the album is quality. The sound is fresh and refreshing, and still has merit in today's society. 2 people found this helpful.
