Lee Ranaldo - Between The Times And The Tides Alternate Mixes mp3 album
Between the Times and the Tides is the ninth studio album by the American alternative rock musician Lee Ranaldo, released on March 20, 2012 on Matador Records. His first release on Matador Records and since Sonic Youth's indefinite hiatus, the album features a more straightforward songwriting approach to his prior material and includes guest musicians such as Nels Cline, John Medeski and Leah Singer
Between the Times & the Tides, Sonic Youth strummer Lee Ranaldo’s latest, was made by a guitarhead-but you won’t hear your garden-variety six-string here. The songs are accomplished and take surprising turns, shot through with a mellow fury that’s endlessly appealing. Some of these songs could have been fine additions to a Sonic Youth album, particularly "Xtina as I Knew Her" which, with its expansive swath and dark, dissonant solos swirling around the plainspoken clarity of his vocals, comes the closest to Ranaldo's work with the band.
MAY 2012 Just pressed up, a tour only twelve inch record (w download card) that collects all the ‘band demos’ currently in circulation–8 tracks recorded by Lee and rhythm section of Steve Shelley and Irwin Menken prior to the sessions for Between the Tides and the Times. Also a 7″ with the two ‘alternate mixes’ of songs from the album. These mixes were done by Lee and co-producer John Agnello while mixing the album
But one track per album was never, ever, enough. Thurston kept writing songs, though sometimes we wished he didn’t, but we wanted Lee to write some too. Well, now he has. While those earliest examples of Ranaldo’s craft bristle and burn with his unique marriage of feral guitar squall and post-beat prose, it’s to later SY classics such as Murray Street’s Karen Revisited that we find the precursors for much of Between the Times and the Tides. But despite this mildest of flirtations with discordance, Between the Times and the Tides cruises pretty straight, especially for those expecting an unbridled dose of experimentation from a string-slinger well known for his endless collaborations with free jazzers and noise conceptualists. But once you get over the initial shock, and some negligible lyrical lumber, you’re left with one mighty fine rock’n’roll record. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Licence.

Album Between the Times and the Tides. Xtina as I Knew Her Lyrics. I was traveling light, traveling with a friend As Xtina came of age, I hung with Xtina's friends They would all come 'round the house and slowly go insane Every night up around the bend, I'm in Xtina's house again. She was just a lonely soldier Running with the times and the tides Maybe just a little older Quite a ways into the night Quite a ways into the night.

The new album opens up with a seven minute epic ‘Moroccan Mountains’ and a trademark Ranaldo spoken word passage I was filming against the light when the landscape dropped down and we fell into the crack between the window and the world, and this crack, this margin in music is effectively the area where Lee has operated, For twenty years we had our. screwdrivers out/Trying to disassemble the panels. He’d already made some esoteric ones, but with Between The Times And The Tides in 2012 he truly consolidated his voice both as singer and singular artist. After a true new band record with Lee as leader - Lee Ranaldo and The Dust’s Last Night On Earth in 2013 and a 100% acoustic foray with The Dust on Acoustic Dust the year later, Ranaldo has been drawn back into a fully collaborative effort.
