The Mexicali Brass was the answere to the success of Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass by Teddy Phillips. When he moved to California in the 1960s he formed this outlet and recorded for the Bihari Brothers label Crown Records (2). Membri: Teddy Phillips. Varianti: Stai visualizzando tutto The Mexicali Brass. Rhino Records (2), GSC Music.

The name of the group, for this album, is "Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass". Alpert's first top ten hit, and fifth gold record, the album continued the progression of the Tijuana Brass from its mostly-Mexican sound to a more easy-listening style, with a collection of cover versions of popular songs.

Album: Mexicali Brass. Artist: Mexicali Brass.

Cover shot doesn’t match much though. The tune Tijuana Harlem is a crazy mix of Latin brass, blues & rock and roll. One of the better MB cuts on any of the LPs. CrownRecords TijHarm. There was another Mexicali Brass on Longines Symphonette and they are better quality records than on Crown. Still lots of public domain songs. These tracks were produced by Tangerine MUsic which I believe was owned by Ray Charles (the singer). Paul Urbahns says: July 15, 2018 at 4:11 pm. You made a point about the revised versions of the Whipped Cream album, leaving off The Lonely Bull. I think it was to save mechanical royalties and replace the familiar tune with a public domain song. The did the same thing with the What Now My Love album and removed Spanish Flea.
