More about the hope of man. This work does not represent a revolt. It doesn’t even vaguely represent a desire for the demise of any of these things. All it represents is the hope that Man again can find his own feet, can find himself in a very confused, mechanistic society and can recover to himself some of the happiness, some of the sincerity and some of the love and kindness with which he was created. Such was the backdrop of L. Ron Hubbard’s 25-year quest to solve the riddle of Man. Applying the tools and methodology of twentieth-century science to the accumulated knowledge from thousands of years of religious teachings, he sought an understanding of exactly who and what Man is. Then, in 1952, he arrived at a historic discovery.

Lafayette Ronald Hubbard (13 March 1911 – 24 January 1986) was an American science fiction author. He developed Dianetics and founded Scientology. He was the father of Ron DeWolfe. Living is a pretty grim joke, but a joke just the same. The entire function of man is to survive. The outermost limit of endeavour is creative work. Anything less is too close to simple survival until death happens along

Lafayette Ronald "L. Ron" Hubbard was an American science fiction author who developed a self-help system called Dianetics which was first published in 1950. Over the following three decades Hubbard developed his self-help ideas into a wide-ranging set of doctrines and rituals as part of a new religion he called Scientology. Hubbard's writings became the guiding texts for the Church of Scientology and a number of affiliated organizations that address such diverse topics as business administration, literacy and drug rehabilitation
