Foolish is the fourth studio album by American indie rock band Superchunk. It was recorded November 30 through December 2, 1993, at Pachyderm Studios, by Brian Paulson and mixed by the band and Paulson at Steve Albini's home studio. The album was released by Merge Records in 1994.

Weed Forestin is an album by the American indie rock band Sebadoh. It was originally self-released by Barlow on cassette in 1987, under the Sentridoh name, the solo home-recording project of American rock musician and Sebadoh member Lou Barlow, and sold at record stores in his native Massachusetts in an approximate run of 100. In 1990, it was officially released by Homestead on vinyl and cassette under the name of Barlow's newly formed band Sebadoh

Superchunk's 1991 release, The Freed Seed EP, includes a cover version of "Brand New Love" as well as two other Sebadoh songs. This recording also appeared on Superchunk's compilation Tossing Seeds (Singles 89–91). Four of the tracks on this album are covers: "Train from Kansas City", a Shangri-Las song; "Night Creatures", a song originally recorded by The Flys; and "It's So Hard to Fall in Love" and "Brand New Love", which were originally recorded by Sebadoh. Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth released a version of the "Brand New Love" as the fifth track on his 1994 solo EP Broken Circle, Spiral Hill.
