The Velvet Underground and Nico is an essential part of a vinyl collectors library, a truly seminal and unique proto-punk/noise rock album. The cover is great, its glossy and the print is great quality, the photos and text are all high quality, nothing wrong there

Soon after, Dolph sent an acetate disc of the recordings to Columbia in an attempt to interest them in distributing the album, but they declined, as did Atlantic Records and Elektra Records. Eventually, the MGM Records-owned Verve Records accepted the recordings with the help of Verve staff producer Tom Wilson, who had recently moved from a job at Columbia.

The Velvet Underground is the self-titled third studio album by American rock band the Velvet Underground. Released in March 1969, it was their first record with Doug Yule, who was a replacement for John Cale. Recorded in 1968 at TTG Studios in Hollywood, California, the album's sound-consisting largely of ballads and straightforward rock songs-marked a notable shift in style from the band's previous recordings.

The Velvet Underground’s first album only sold a few thousand copies, but everyone who bought one formed a band. Brian Eno. Forty-five years after its release, everything that was supposed to have made The Velvet Underground & Nico special has been nearly eradicated by its own legend.

So came The Velvet Underground and Nico. And then it went; quite quickly in fact. Despite its status as one of the ‘best and most influential albums ever created’ and the oft quoted statement from Brain Eno that ‘everyone who listed to it went off to start their own band’, it only managed to peak at a whopping 171 on the billboard 200. Ah, but of course, commercial success hardly equates to brilliance, point out the ubiquitous musical elite who exist only in the shadows of internet forums and school halls.

Reviews about The Velvet Underground & Nico - Unripened (4):
Hello, why is these version forbidden to sale? (Mine is a version with a black label).
I have a copy of this version with a white label in the center. If anyone is interested in this, please let me know as it is only the one I found on the Internet to have a white Center instead of a black center with the clear green vinyl.
I only found out that what we have is VERY rare and that it's also worth upwards of 3/4 Hundred USD.
Mine is actually also a white labeled version. Found it in a record store several years back for a pretty reasonable price but I'm not sure if they knew what they had. If you find anything else out about it, let me know.
