Lyrics to "I, The Mask" song by In Flames: From here I can hardly see a thing We're further off with every passing second I will follow anyone. So many faces Dressed in rags for all to see Here I am In the mask The jester that wants to be free. I'm done with watching graves grow mold The sins are mine, I believe them to be. All the tears they're draining me We find the truth through tragedy Give me a sign, I'm on my knees (Feel like you forgotten me). Who am I? So many faces Dressed in rags for all to see Here I am In the mask The jester that wants to be free. How could you leave me behind? I'm tired and I felt it for sometime I can't take this much longer I'm stuck in a downward spiral. album: "I, The Mask" (2019).
The album opens with Voices, which not only opens the album with the notorious In Flames flare, but the stylistic change shines through in droves – it’s absolutely brilliant! Friden’s clean vocals are simply superb, and begs the question as to why the decision to have him showcase them more prominently (over his growling vocals) took so long to come about.

Genre: Alternative Metal. after listening to this album I realise that the band is starting to find a compromise between their old sound and new, but they haven't quite reached it yet, but they are in the right direction. what stops this album from being better is the sound of the cymbals as they are drawn out and were distracting while listening as they reminded. me of the Steel sounding snare drum from St. Anger.
The result is a massive-sounding album that showcases why IN FLAMES are one of the biggest metal bands in the world. From the way acoustic guitars give way to to anthemic riffing on the power ballad ‘Call My Name’ to the relentless riffing on ‘Burn’ and sweetly syncopated groove of ‘I Am Above,’ I, The Mask sees the band stretching out musically and crafting music that's as catchy as it is crushing.
