Monster Magnet - Cobras And Fire: The Mastermind Redux mp3 album
On Oct. 9, they will release Cobras and Fire (The Mastermind Redux), which they're calling a "alternative listening experience" to their 2010 album Mastermind. As frontman Dave Wyndorf says in a press release, "With Cobras And Fire I wanted to present these songs in a much stranger and dirtier atmosphere . You can hear the first single, "Mastermind '69," over at Brooklyn Vegan. Wyndorf notes that Cobras and Fire is "the weirdest Monster Magnet yet, and that's a good thing!" 'Cobras and Fire (The Mastermind Redux)' Track Listing
Mastermind is the eighth studio album by the American stoner rock band Monster Magnet. A video for the first single, Gods and Punks, was released on October 1, 2010. The album was released on October 25, 2010. The album debuted at No. 165 on the Billboard 200 selling around 3,000 copies becoming the band's first album since 2001's 'God Says No' to chart on the Billboard 200. Mastermind was also the final album of lead guitarist and long-term member, Ed Mundell.
Cobras and Fire (The Mastermind Redux). Cobras and Fire (The Mastermind Redux) is the eleventh studio album by the American stoner rock band Monster Magnet. The album is a reworking of material previously included on Mastermind (2010). In regards to the album, Dave Wyndorf told Blabbermouth. net: "She Digs That Hole" – 5:48. Watch Me Fade" – 3:06. Mastermind '69" – 6:28. Cobras and Fire (Hallucination Bomb)" – 9:16.
Monster Magnet re-imagine one of their existing albums for the second time in two years, playing up the psychedelia without sacrificing the heaviness. Just over a year later, Cobras and Fire gives a similar treatment to the band’s previous studio album, 2010’s Mastermind. This time around, there’s no ‘60s conceit to the project, although the band’s meandering psychedelic side is once again the overwhelming focus of the project. You wouldn’t know it from the first two tracks of Cobras and Fire, though. The album opens with She Digs That Hole, which recasts the song Dig That Hole as something completely different. Dig That Hole was a slow-build rocker with lyrics about reality TV, pill-popping, and vacant-eyed American consumerism.

While Cobras and Fire is only really a thing hardcore Monster Magnet fans will care about, I think if you haven’t heard Mastermind, the album works WAY better if you just listen to it as the follow-up to Last Patrol. Fortunately, it’s almost been 3 years since Last Patrol was released, so the band should be working on a new album as I type this and judging by the creativity on display here, I am aching with anticipation already!
