Robert J. Braidwood - Prehistoric Men mp3 album

Description: The men who lived in prehistoric times left us no history books, but they did unintentionally leave a record of their presence and their way of life. This record is studied and interpreted by different kinds of scientists.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on July 29, 1907, Robert J. Braidwood was educated at the University of Michigan and the University of Chicago where he studied architecture, ancient history and anthropology. He is an anthropologist, archaeologist and is a leader in the field of Near Eastern Prehistory; he is acclaimed for his investigations into the origins and early consequences of a food producing way of life. This theory was outlined in the book Prehistoric Investigations in Iraqi Kurdistan. In 1950, his political problem in Iran had come to an end even though the project had been moved to Iranian Zagros. From this site it was discovered that occupation of the area dates back to the end of the Pleistocene which inspired natural scientists to investigate climatic and vegetational history.

Robert John Braidwood was born on July 29, 1907, in Detroit, Michigan, a second-generation descendant of Scot-tish immigrants, both his mother’s and his father’s parents having come to the United States during the nineteenth century. As a boy, Bob Braidwood worked in his father’s pharmacy after school and held occasional part-time jobs at a grocery store and a bank. During the summer before he left home to attend the University of Michigan as a fresh-man undergraduate, he held an apprentice card in a car-penters’ union
