Body Electric Lyrics. Through the cables and the underground now The faceless breathless calls This is babel, sensurround now This place is death with walls. Too much contact, no more feeling The sound around them all Acid on the floor so she walk on the ceiling And the body electric flashes on the bathroom wall And the body electric flashes on the bathroom wall Crawling to the corners where the idiot children call See the body flashing on the bathroom wall. The Sisters of Mercy are an English rock band, formed in 1980 in Leeds. Each album was recorded by a different line-up; singer-songwriter Andrew Eldritch and the drum machine called Doktor Avalanche are the only points of continuity throughout. Eldritch and Avalanche were also involved in The Sisterhood, a side-project connected with Eldritch's dispute with former members. Although Time Warner released them from their contract in 1997, they have not signed to another label, despite showcasing numerous new songs in their live sets.
The Sisters of Mercy (formed in 1977) is an English gothic rock and post-punk rock band who rose to prominence in the 1980s following their debut, hailing from Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Named after the Leonard Cohen song Sisters of Mercy, which members heard in the 1971 film McCabe & Mrs. Miller, the band was formed by Gary Marx and Andrew Eldritch in 1977. The Sisters Of Mercy. It could just be because this band is called The Sisters of Mercy that I think, front man, Andrew Eldritch looks rather androgynous amongst the rest of the band. But where's the wonderful spidery guitar-work from their first album? The atmospheric stuff? The answer is that because it sounds 'gothic', and Andrew Eldritch can't stand that tag, it's now turned into groove-heavy but utterly boring guitar work.
