Stage is David Bowie's second live album, recorded on the Isolar II Tour, and released by RCA Records in 1978. Though it was rumouredat the time that this would be his final outing with the label, following dissatisfaction over the promotion of Low and "Heroes", Bowie remained with RCA until 1982.

That album captured Bowie in a transitional phase, sliding from glam to stylized soul, while Stage was recorded in the thick of his Berlin phase with r Brian Eno, and Stage is an attempt to translate that sleek, angular, arty studio-bound sound to the live arena. This means not only are Low and Heroes given live treatments, but about half of both Ziggy Stardust and Station to Station are given new arrangements here.

The European leg of David Bowie’s Isolar II world tour wrapped up with a three-night stand at London’s Earls Court in late June and early July of 1978. Bowie and a killer seven-piece band had been on the road since March supporting Low and Heroes, though their set highlighted material from nearly all of his 1970s albums. They were a tight machine by the time of the Earls Court gigs and Bowie had the foresight to bring in filmmaker David Hemmings to film the shows. All three nights opened up with the low, instrumental Warszawa that went directly into the title track to Heroes – which you. But they really should remaster it and put it into movie theaters. The Stage live album was recorded earlier in the tour and this is a far better show. More video 1978-1979. David Bowie – Arena Rock – BBC TV – 1978. Interview - Afternoon plus 1979.

Five Years (David Bowie song). Five Years" is a song written by David Bowie, recorded on 15 November 1971, and released as the opening track on the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars in 1972. The song tells of an Earth doomed to destruction in five years and the aftermath of this knowledge

David Bowie's David Live was recorded at the Tower Theater in 1974. It was critically panned upon release. David Bowie once released an album so bad Bowie himself never listened to it. Of course it was recorded in the area. The material for David Live, Bowie’s first live album, was recorded at the Tower Theater during Bowie’s six-night stint there in July 1974. Bowie was on his Diamond Dogs Tour, an elaborate stage show that included a bridge/elevator that went 25 feet in the air. Bowie recalled in 1990 that the tour was good fun and dangerous, with the equipment breaking down and the bridges falling apart on stage.
