Ken Hensley - The Ken Hensley Anthology mp3 album

The Best of Ken Hensley. Compilation, 1990, Bronze Records. Blood on the Highway - The Ken Hensley Story. Album, 2007, Politur.

The album features Ken Hensley's best songs not used for Uriah Heep while Ken was the bands keyboard player and main song writer. Some of the early songs feature performances from members of Uriah Heep. Beautiful ballads and moody rockers dominate this album, but a few rockers finish this collection of Hensley's finest. 5 people found this helpful.

Ken Hensley - Anthology.

Only for completionists (0%). While "The anthology" is a highly enjoyable compilation, the title is somewhat misleading. I do not question the quality of the tracks which have been chosen, but they do not represent the balance and flavour of the album well. Free spirit", released at a time when Ken was enduring great stress in relation to his career, was a more patchy affair. The tracks here are a reasonable cross section of the album, but the desire to get something out is all too apparent in some of the songs and in the abridged nature of the overall product.

Although Hensley's solo work often utilizes an atmospheric production style similar to that of Uriah Heep, it usually tones down the heavy metal bombast to show off his skills as a songwriter. This is a plus, because Hensley has a solid knack for pairing strong, memorable melodies with intriguing lyrics: "Through the Eyes of a Child" is a heartbreaking exploration of the loss of innocence that comes.

Kenneth William David Hensley (born 24 August 1945) is an English singer-songwriter, t and producer, best known for his work with Uriah Heep during the 1970s. He wrote or co-wrote the majority of Uriah Heep's songs during this period, including the hit singles "Lady in Black" (on which he sang lead vocals), "Easy Livin'" and "Stealin'", as well as "Look at Yourself", on which he also sang lead vocals, and "Free Me".
