Wolfstone is a Scottish musical group - formed in Inverness, Scotland in 1989 by fiddler Duncan Chisholm and guitarist/vocalist Stuart Eaglesham - which plays Highland music combined with rock and roll. The band's repertoire consists of both original songs and traditional folk pieces. Wolfstone split in 1997 after much difficulty with its record label, but reformed in 1998 to fulfill its recording contract, and has subsequently continued.
The album never lets the listener go; much of it is dance-oriented, and even the most sedentary listeners may be pulled to their feet by the beat of "Banjo" or "Brolum," the latter a lovely fiddle tune that also features some sharp, crunchy electric guitar by Roger Niven. The acoustic playing by the two axemen on "How Long" is also fairly compelling.
Seven (Wolfstone album) – Seven is the fifth studio album by the Scottish Celtic rock band Wolfstone. Bassist Wayne Mackenzie said we could have just gone through the motions and made an attempt at an album. The band and our fans mean far too much to us to do that, the album contains a mix between songs and instrumentals and diverse subject matter.
