The Beach Boys - The Smile Sessions mp3 album
The set focuses on abandoned recording sessions from their unfinished 1966–67 album Smile which – if completed – would have followed the group's 11th studio album Pet Sounds. It features comprehensive session highlights and outtakes, while the first 19 tracks comprise an approximation of what the completed album might have sounded like.

The project was intended by its creator Brian Wilson as the follow-up to Pet Sounds, but was never completed in its original form. The project was resurrected in 2003, and a newly recorded version was released by Wilson in 2004. Smile has come to be regarded as the most famous unreleased album of all time
The Beach Boys' album Pet Sounds, issued on May 16, 1966, was massively influential upon its release, containing lush and sophisticated orchestral arrangements that raised the band's prestige as rock innovators. The Smile sessions were intentionally limited to recording short interchangeable fragments also referred to as "modules".
An album called 'Smiley Smile' was issued later that year, but other than a few of the songs and the hint of the title, it had very little to do with his abandoned masterpiece. Over time, a few more of the songs made it onto subsequent Beach Boys albums, albeit in different form, but time marched on. The Beach Boys made more (sometimes great) records, and Brian grew more and more isolated. Any hope of him ever reaching for such bold creative ground again was long buried. Five years later, the 'Good Vibrations: 30 Years Of The Beach Boys' box set, which included a handful of unreleased tracks from the album's sessions, were released. Over the years, as Brian regained control of his own destiny (a story unto itself) he dove back into making music, and eventually assembled a band that was sympathetic not only to his sometimes erratic ways, but more importantly, to his musical history.
Few albums are as mythic as the Beach Boys' Smile. One of the most romantic of the myths holds that, had the album come out as intended in 1967 – instead of being abandoned unfinished until it was ostensibly completed by Brian Wilson and his latterday touring band in 2004 – it would have been acclaimed as a masterpiece, eclipsed the Beatles' Sgt Pepper and changed the course of rock history. But he had a point about the commercial reception of Smile's predecessor Pet Sounds, at least in the US, and he may well have had a point about how Smile would merely exacerbate the problem. The preceding single Good Vibrations had been a mammoth hit.

Released October 28, 2011. 1. Our Prayer Lyrics. SMiLE is the greatest American pop album never heard and possesses perhaps the greatest legend of any American album. Its non-existence has been the obsession of the band’s fans for a half-century. The following tracklist is an admittedly incomplete list of the recordings on Sessions.
