Deep Purple - The Ricochet mp3 album

Speed King" is a song by the English rock band Deep Purple, from their 1970 album Deep Purple in Rock. A live version from Deep Purple in Concert was released as the B-side of the US release of the single "Black Night". Speed King" is not a cover, however many of its lyrics are borrowed from popular oldies, including "Rip It Up", "Good Golly Miss Molly", "Tutti Frutti", "Great Balls Of Fire" and "The Battle of New Orleans".

Deep Purple (Deep Purple album). Deep Purple, also referred to as Deep Purple III, is the third studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple, released in June 1969 on Tetragrammaton Records in the United States and only in September 1969 on Harvest Records in the United Kingdom. Its release was preceded by the single "Emmaretta" and by a long tour in the UK, whose dates were interspersed between the album's recording sessions.

Deep Purple In Rock is not only the band’s most important album but proved to be a milestone in the history of rock music, influencing countless groups and musicians in the four decades since it first appeared. It not only defined the band’s new direction, but firmly established Deep Purple as one of the biggest rock bands of the seventies (and beyond). It also laid the groundwork for the successful and artistically creative period which followed. Upheaval within the group in mid-1969, coupled with indifference to their earlier work had left them almost unknown in Europe

The album, pivotal for the up-until-then somewhat lightweight Deep Purple, and marked the studio debut of the band’s best-known line-up. One of the nicest things about this book is that, for all the minutiae involved, it isn’t a dry, trainspotter-style compendium of facts, but covers the genesis, creation and legacy of the album with enthusiasm and humour. It’s an endlessly repeatable formula and, while In Rock is a worthy subject, hopefully it won’t be the last album to receive this superb treatment.
