Solo is the second major Star Wars movie to be composed by someone other than John Williams (Rogue One was the first). Did John Powell succeed? Yes he did, and with flying colors. John Williams kicks the album off with one of his best new themes in years, and Powell takes over from there, using it beautifully over the rest of the soundtrack. I've been a longtime fan of his, and was very, very pleased to hear Ron Howard had brought him aboard for this fantastic movie. The one that will be talked about most no doubt is "Reminiscence Therapy," Powell's rip-roaring tribute to the best action cues of Williams' original trilogy score.

The soundtrack to the most anticipated movie of the year, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Benicio Del Toro, Mark Hamill and the late Carrie Fisher, the movie is the official Episode VIII in the universe-conquering film franchise. Once again composed by the legendary John Williams. Tracklist: 01. Main Title and Escape 02. Ahch-To Island 03. Revisiting Snoke 04. The Supremacy 05. Fun With Finn and Rose 06.

Reviews about John Williams - Star Wars: The Last Jedi Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (45):
well after many months and countless emails, mine finally showed up today.I will admit the package & vinyl look pretty badass in person.I guess since probably only 100 of us actually have this is why it's going on here for $200.00This however was my first & last purchase from IAMSHARK, despite it being a great vinyl & package
Garbage pressing from a garbage company. I would advise strongly agains buying this
Garbage pressing from a garbage company. I would advise strongly agains buying this
I ordered this in December from iamshark and I am still waiting. Over the last month I have sent two emails and have heard nothing back. It is extremely frustrating. Looking at the photos posted, I'm not even sure I want this anymore. The actual pressing colours are not even close to what was pictured in the pre sale photos. What a joke.
I just I’ll need to file a complaint myself. I have sent 4 emails to Craig at iamshark and have been ignored and disregarded. I figured I’d wait to see if anyone is getting them and it looks like they are slowly shipping but I ordered in early December 2018 and I see that he is actually shipping out orders that came in much later.
I ordered this as well back then. I finally just got my shipping confirmation last week. They never responded to one email. However, once I posted on their facebook wall that I was getting paypal invloved, I received a shipping confirmation that day. Maybe a coincidence
If I had to use one word to describe my overall experience with this album, it would be: Disappointing.First, the customer service was shameful. This got delayed because of a printing error (it was nice of them to send both the erroneous and fixed jackets) but the way the handled it was embarrassing. I contacted them on multiple platforms and email, and all I got back was radio silence. It took a whole THREE MONTHS to get here!! As for the album itself... There's much room for improvement. The jacket and gatefold artwork is absolutely stunning and the main reason I purchased this in the first place, and it was a pleasant surprise to see they included a 12"x12" print of the cover art, but the record turned out mediocre at best. The colors don't blend well at all and don't look very much like the renderings they have on their website, and the pressing quality is downright unacceptable for a Star Wars record. The actual music quality itself is outstanding, with booming bass and crisp highs and hardly any pops or clicks, but the mids are completely muddied out due to surface noise. The noise floor on these records is so bad that the static hissing is louder than some of the quiet parts of the music! It gets drowned out during loud parts but it's still there and it's very distracting.Overall:Packaging - 5/5Record design - 3/5Sound quality - 2.5/5 I would not recommend doing business with iamshark.
did you ever get a shipping confirmation? I have been waiting since January. As you said, radio silence from IAMSHARK. Horrible company
Wild Python
It.s still in print for 39.90 at iamshark. DO NOT pay over 200 USD for it on discogs!
I would advise against buying it from iamshark.com (as well advise againsg paying +$150 for this)Hundreds of us have still not received this vinyl from them. Ordered back in October.Their facebook posts etc are blowing up
Very hard to communicate with this bloke, pressing of Star Wars Episode VII (Luke and Rey) doesn't look anything like advertised according to many people and pictures on Instagram. People complain about it on the review page on his website, and those comments got deleted. He only did not delete a positive one. And that review was just a person being excited that he couldn't wait for his copy. Some of his work looks very cool, but how this person treats his costumers by not replying to e-mails, not giving updates about orders and censoring negative reviews will make me never order from him again.
I agree, did not receive my 2 copies. File a dispute with Paypal if that was your method of payment, just got my refund from them.
crazy mashine
Very disappointed about how the colors looks compared to the mockup...
Finally got mine in the mail yesterday (March 8) and have to say that, although the lack of communication on this release was not good at all, the release itself was worth the wait. The vinyl itself is absolutely gorgeous and it sounds great. The Disney pressing was a sad, sad jumbled rush to get it out with ZERO quality control and am really glad I Am Shark fixed all that.
Just got mine in the mail. And the coloring is worse than the picture on this page...
Has anyone actually received this album yet? Last update was it was supposed to ship out around 2/1... have heard nothing from label since. Please update.
Ordered mine March 10th, it finally showed up TODAY!!!!, hopefully, you'll have yours soon.
Hey, thanks for the info! It has been utterly disappointing how this was handled by I Am Shark. It will probably be my last purchase with them as well. I appreciate you sending a response! Thanks!
heart of sky
Finally received mine today. Color isn't really what was marketed but is far closer than the other variant. Seems the delay was for a printing issue with the jacket (track listing type had no contrast) but they never bothered to email about it to let us know it'd be delayed… This was my first and probably last purchase of an original title published by I Am Shark.
the color of the vinyl is not so good as on iamshark web site((
my order finally arrived on Feb 23rd....after repeated emails to iamshark with zero responses....and as far as color goes, might as well have been pressed on black vinyl.
Colour looks terrible, Im pretty upset because I havent even heard anything about shipping for my order..
good to know that someone actually received it.....did your tracking ever update?....my USPS tracking still says label created, awaiting item....no response from iamshark when i asked for an update a week ago.
I guess I'm the lucky one, mine's pretty decent sound wise! Not much pops, low surface noise too.
As previously stated, not good pressings. My first one (pre-order from amazon) had three major skips on two sides. Second copy still skipped in two places, but didn't want to get another copy without being sure of no skips. Disappointed, the score itself is amazing, the skips really take you out of the moment...
The music is fantastic, but, has other have stated, the quality of this pressing is bad. I have a lot of surface noise and it skips on one of the track from side b. Very disappointed with this since my copy of The Force Awakens is flawless. Beware.
I bought a brand new, sealed copy and when i vhecked the surface of side A, near the end (last 2 tracks) there is a small surface where no laquer seemed to have been applied. When played, this surface brings noise like small scratches. a bit disapointed.
i got mine from amazon the day it was released. No skips, no pops, no warps. Great playing / sounding soundtrack.
On my third copy and they all have popped and skipped on every side... Great sound track, just terrible pressing... United Record Pressing dropped the ball on this one:(
Can someone please go and sort GZ's quality control out?! Anyone reading this, can they email Universal (email at the bottom) to complain about these dreadful sounding records? Every time I buy a record which is pressed by GZ, the records are abysmal: noisy, crackly, hissy, poppy, dirty and they manufacture so much of Universal's output. 4 copies and both scratched. The inner sleeves are all creased as well. Who are the people running the quality control there? They simply do not know how to press records correctly and this from the company that apparently is "saving" vinyl. If you can't press a record and get it into a sleeve without scratching it and damaging the packaging then what is the point? This is another GZ clunker to add to the growing pile over the past 12 months: Blade Runner 2049, Stranger Things, Elton John's Diamonds, St Vincent's Masseduction, TT's Lovelaws- to name just a (very) few. I wouldn't mind if these records were cheap but they're not. Most retailers in the UK are selling Jedi for £30! For this junk yard pressing? Laughable.Update: I emailed Universal International Music and they wanted more information, which I sent them, so if anyone has experienced this awful pressing tell Universal about it. The more comms they get, the more likely they are to impress on the pressing plant that their pressing standards are not good enough. Email: [email protected]
At first I thought I needed to replace my needle already, but Yeah it's definitively a bad quality pressing. Stay away from this! Unless you want a really expensive filler in your Star Wars collection. Really disappointed.
I can double this! First pressing was terrible and I sent it back. Replacement copy sounds better, but far beyond good. I have cleaned it with an Okki Nokki record washing machine, this helped a little bit.
This afternoon I picked up a copy of this soundtrack at Barnes & Noble and when I got it home, found that it skipped several times right away during the first 2 tracks, so didn't even try continuing to play it. I had used the cleaning brush on it and had cleaned my stylus, so took a closer look at the surface and saw two scratches in the end of side A that had not been played yet and many other scuff marks. Tried a different, recent purchase which played perfectly, so took it back to the store. They were very gracious and offered to open another copy to let me inspect it and I found the 2nd copy in very similar shape, side B even had a small dimple toward the end of the first track. So we played it on their store player - skipped in exactly the same places that my system at home did during the first track. Beware of a bad batch...?
my first copy skipped. My second copy skipped, but at least the second copy had the skips in less notable places than the first 10 seconds of the main theme
Same here... with everyone having problems i even wonder if it's worth asking for a replacement from Amazon at this point.
I received my copy from Amazon in the last week and it had the same issue. Hoping the replacement they send is better! They did ask if it was a certain area that was skipping. This seems to be happening a lot with this record release.
I don't think it has anything to do with how modern it is, pressing errors happen all the time. I have one on this release here (https://www.discogs.com/The-Wrens-Secaucus/release/2495542 ) which unless set to a light weight (the reccomendation for my cartridge, a SHURE M35X) it will repeat and skip like crazy. And that album is from 1996. Maybe quality control has declined? But this is not a hugely uncommon problem.
Unfortunately I just have the LP60 which doesn’t have adjustment for anti-skate or weight on the arm. Hoping to upgrade later this year... Thanks for replying - maybe this is an instance of the low-end Audio Technica models not handling modern vinyl well.
Do you have the recommended weight set for your cartridge? Might be able to play through it if so. Just a thought. If you can't set weight then that's probably the issue. Same for the store player, or they just didn't know what they were doing.
I purchased a copy over the weekend at an indie record store in Cincinnati and I had the exact same skipping you mentioned.
