Reviews about Various - Rock & Roll: Evolution Or Revolution? (1):
This is an EXCELLENT primer on the origins of rock n roll. The narrator takes you through the 50s and explains how rock broke, what made ot novel, why it was rejected by older generations, and why it ultimately triumphed. This is all accompanied by a chronological sampling of 40-some of the biggest rock hits in each year peppered in throughout the narration. It’s very chill but also unobtrusively informative, all while not taking too long. 10-15 seconds of each song are sampled (plenty of time to shazam those you want to listen to, especially as a lot are 1-hit wonders but absolute classics). For a couple bucks, this is a no brainer.
