Howard the Duck, starting out as a delightfully absurd comic book about a alien duck creature that crashed landed in Cleveland and tries to cope with the human life style. This was then adapted by George Lucas into a film, but instead of the classic space-themed movie the fat man is known for he crafted one of the most infamously bad movies in film history. Many critics and fans alike turned their heads in shame after seeing what seemed to be a motion picture filled with a terrible plot, and special effects to match. Overall, John Barry deserves an award, because not only did he save this album, but he saved several moments of the film from plundering into a TOTAL fest. or just a better song. And I'm pretty sure Thomas Dolby and Stevie Wonder are pretty embarrassed right now, so I won't mention them.
A soundtrack album is any album that incorporates music directly recorded from the soundtrack of a particular feature film or television show. The first such album to be commercially released was Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the soundtrack to the film of the same name, in 1938. The first soundtrack album of a film's orchestral score was that for Alexander Korda's 1942 film Jungle Book, composed by Miklós Rózsa.

James Bond goes under the sea to find his man, and composer John Barry obliges with an aquatically cool yet subtly powerful soundtrack. Barry made his first big mark with an equally wonderful backdrop to Bond's earlier From Russia With Love and Goldfinger adventures. It had been Barry's intent to give Shirley Bassey - who'd scored big with "Goldfinger" - a second go-around with a Bond movie song, but the producers' decision to change the song resulted in Tom Jones getting the title song, devised by Barry at the last moment
For that album, John Barry extracted approximately 24 minutes of his one hour score and arranged the selections into a vivid, single ballet movement he called Return To The Sea-2033 . The remainder of the LP contained lengthy disco versions of the theme performed instrumentally by John Barry as well as in two vocal treatments by Donna Summer. The generous running time of the LP also included a disco piece by Beckett. For our 2-CD set, this entire LP program can be heard on disc two, presented from the actual stereo album masters vaulted in mint condition by the Universal Music Group.
