Mira were a five-piece dream pop/shoegaze band from Tallahassee, Florida, formed in 1996. Mira was formed by vocalist Regina Sosinski, guitarist Tom Parker, bassist Sam Riles and drummer Alan Donaldson. Originally called Still, they were influenced by shoegaze bands such as Slowdive and Cocteau Twins. After releasing several EPs on their own Tesseract label, the band signed to Projekt Records, and their song "Cayman" appeared on Projekt's cat-themed 1999 compilation A Cat-Shaped Hole in My Heart.

The band was formed by most of the members of Blackout and led in its first years by Tadeusz Nalepa and his then life partner, singer Mira Kubasińska; its lineup changed many times over the years. Breakout’s first performance took place at Musicorama festival in February 1968. In June the band toured Benelux; after returning to Poland, they became one of the most important Polish rock bands and arguably the first to play blues rock in Poland. The album became an unpreceded event in Polish rock and gave Breakout many hits. However, the band found themselves under fire from Polish mass media for pro-Western lifestyle and Nalepa’s long hair. As a result, the radio and TV stopped broadcasting their songs. Their second album '70a’, released in 1970, was recorded with Józef Skrzek as bass player (later of SBB fame).

About the band: After a few years of playing as Blackout, the first performance of Breakout took place on Musicorama festival, in February 1968. In April the new bass player - Michal Muzolf, joined the group. In June the band toured in the countries of Benelux. In 1969 they realized their first album "Na drugim brzegu teczy", which they had recorded without K. Dlutowski, but with Wlodzimierz Nahorny, who played the saxophone and flute. In August Breakout took the new bass-player Piotr Nowak, but just at the beginning of 1970, he was replaced by Józef Skrzek. Next year they recorded their fourth album "Karate". After the recording was finished Jan Izbinski (vocal) joined for a short time. Karate" turned out to be their best selling work to date. In 1973 year Wlodzimierz Nahorny left Breakout, and the musicians helped to record the solo album of Mira Kubasinska "Ogien".
