Festivál is the eighth studio album by Santana, released in January 1977. It peaked number twenty seven in the Billboard 200 chart and number twenty nine in the R&B Albums chart. Amigos is the seventh studio album by Santana released in 1976. It generated a minor . hit single in "Let It Shine" and was the band's first album to hit the top ten on the Billboard charts since Caravanserai in 1972 (it ultimately reached gold record status). In Europe, the song "Europa" was released as a single and became a top ten hit in several countries. New vocalist Greg Walker joined the group. It would be the last Santana album to include original bassist David Brown.

Santana's follow-up to its comeback album, Amigos, was another David Rubinson-produced effort that moved back toward more of a Latin rock feel, although it retained an essentially pop focus - "The River" was the first real vocal ballad on a Santana album. If any doubt still existed that the group was no longer a band of equals but a platform for its lead guitarist, the current lineup dispelled that; Carlos Santana was now the only original member of the band left

Album, 1969, Columbia Records. Reissue in 1998 with bonus tracks. Album, 09 Ноябрь 1973, Sony Music. Album, 1976, Columbia Records.

Festival (Santana album). Studio album by Santana. Festivál is a 1977 album from Santana. It was their eighth studio album Contents. Side one. Side two. 2 Personnel.

As with AMIGOS, the preceding album to FESTIVAL, if you are interested in having only the best of these two works and do not care if you possibly by-pass some other nice tracks, I would highly recommend going straight to the next album, MOONFLOWER which contains some live material of the best of both albums, and the live performances are spot-on. perfect renditions which are actually even better sounding! FESTIVAL is however not a poor album at all, and though it charted much lower than AMIGOS, (Festival peaked at on the charts, Amigos peaked at in some ways it is a much better album.
