SEND OF THE SEA – HIP 023 (2007) Two tracks recorded live one in Rome and the other in Wellington in New Zealand. Send Of The Sea’ and ‘The Return Of Shadows’. The Return Of Shadows was recorded live at The British School in Rome as part of the ‘Tracks’ series organised by Daniela Cascella. The Return Of Shadows' is my solo piece. Send Of The Sea' is a live recording I made accompanying some films at ‘Happy’ a club in Wellington. I took the recording home to my studio in Rome and did some post production making a dub piece of it. It was all played on my 1930’s acoustic National Resophonic Tri-Plate guita. ot that you would know!! The ‘Send Of The Sea’ is the title of a piece written by Australian writer Odette Snellen about surfing.

Send Of The Sea. Giacinto. Mike Cooper is perhaps one of these islands. Born in England in 1942, his 40-plus years of constant re-invention, experimentation and quiet genius in a myriad of musical styles has evaded categorization, perhaps as a side-effect of having been almost completely ignored by history. Encompassing Blues, Folk, Roots music, Electronica, Jazz, Exotica, Lounge, Dance, Noise, Modern Composition or Improvisation (amongst others), Cooper’s expansive remit blasts orthodox categorization into the befuddled librarian’s realm where it belongs.
The Live Adventures of Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper is a double album recorded at the Fillmore West venue; the album is a successor to the studio album Super Session, which included Stephen Stills in addition to Bloomfield and Kooper, and had achieved commercial and critical success earlier in 1968
Know (1971), and The Machine Gun Co. with Mike Cooper(1972). The latter two titles are presented for the very first time as the definitive double album, as Cooper originally intended them to be released.
Mike Cooper's led a rich, erstwhile life, and these reissues of a cluster of folk-rock records released in the 1970s highlight just one facet of this multitalented artist's career. Trout Steel, in 1970, was his second solo album and his first landmark statement; Places I Know and Machine Gun C. his fourth and fifth, were released in 1971 and '72. Cooper intended the two to be released at once, as a double album, but in "a corporate decision that involved musical taste, economics, politics and men in suits with cigars and bad taste in ties," as he deadpanned to Aquarium Drunkard, they were released separately.
