Reflections (subtitled Steve Lacy Plays Thelonious Monk) is the second album by Steve Lacy which was released on the Prestige label in 1959. It features performances of Thelonious Monk's compositions by Lacy, Mal Waldron, Buell Neidlinger and Elvin Jones. According to biographer Robin Kelley, this was the first album devoted entirely to Monk's music recorded by another artist.

Some of soprano saxophonist Steve Lacy's most interesting recordings are his earliest ones. After spending periods of time playing with Dixieland groups and then with Cecil Taylor (which was quite a jump), Lacy made several recordings that displayed his love of Thelonious Monk's music plus his varied experiences.

Soprano saxophonist Steve Lacy is not only one of the few players since Sidney Bechet to specialize on the straight horn, he has become one of the most prolifically recorded musicians in jazz during a career that has spanned nearly fifty years. Though his early roots were in Dixieland, where he freely drew from Bechet's legacy, Lacy's major claims to fame have been as an avant-gardist and one of the premier interpreters of Thelonious Monk's music. 1956, Transition; reissued 1997, Blue Note) Lacy's first appearance on record, though he only plays on two tracks of Taylor's debut album, "Charge 'Em Blues" and the simply titled "Song. In the good company of bassist Buell Neidlinger and drummer Denis Charles, Taylor and Lacy began to redirect the flow of jazz into territories unknown.
