Lawrence Joseph Elgart (March 20, 1922 – August 29, 2017) was an American jazz bandleader. With his brother Les, he recorded "Bandstand Boogie", the theme to the long-running dance show American Bandstand. Elgart was born in 1922 in New London, Connecticut, four years younger than his brother, Les, and grew up in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. Their mother was a concert pianist; their father also played piano, though not professionally. Larry and Les both attended Pompton Lakes High School.

A duration of about 2 minutes and a length of only 16 bars, serving Tarrega to give us one of the most emotional songs for classical guitar. The first section is in E major but are prevailing minor intervals, so the atmosphere is still dark, in honor of the song title. The second part is in E minor and contains some technical difficulty due to the presence of positions and notes on the freets until the twelfth of the guitar. Although a bit unusual, Lagrima is certainly one of the most beautiful songs written for the classical guitar and is suitable for an intermediate level of preparation
