Remedy is the fifth studio album by folk, country and old time music band, Old Crow Medicine Show. The album, produced by Ted Hutt, was released on July 1, 2014. It won the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Folk Album. The album is the band's first to feature Chance McCoy and their last with Gill Landry. And they were everything a Red Rocks show should be! It rained (poured) during the opening act, the Grammy Award winning Carolina Chocolate Drops, but cleared up just as OCMS came on stage. Great choice for an opening act, too. That Rhiannon Giddens can sing! Love the Carolina Chocolate Drops, and they kept the energy up even in the rain.

As with Old Crow Medicine Show, this album contains a Dylan song. This time it’s Sweet Amarillo, a song he started years ago, then gave to OCMS to finish. They turned it into a cowboy lament and it’s beautiful. The album overall is well written, produced and completely engaging. Even if you thought you weren’t really into bluegrass, it’s a must-listen.

It takes Ketch Secor and Critter Fuqua approximately 45 seconds upon entering East Nashville’s the Fiddle House to grab a few instruments off the wall and start jamming on two fold-up chairs in the middle of the sales floor. A few hellos preceded this, sure, but when you’re the founding members of Old Crow Medicine show, an inaugural fiddle squeal and banjo-slap are really all the pleasantries you need. So it’s a remedy for both listeners and yourselves. What about modern country music - are you making a statement there, that this is a remedy for what’s currently on the radio.
