The Bundles - The Bundles mp3 album

Bundles is the eighth studio album by the jazz rock band Soft Machine, released in 1975. By Bundles, only keyboardist and founding member Mike Ratledge was left from the early Soft Machine line-ups; the other members had all previously been in the jazz-rock band Nucleus. Guitarist Allan Holdsworth's prominent contributions set the album apart from previous Soft Machine recordings, which had not featured a guitarist for seven years, since their debut single.

The Bundles is the only studio album by the supergroup of the same name, released on March 9, 2010 on K Records. Fellow anti-folk artists Jeffrey Lewis and Kimya Dawson first met in 2001, and created their first five songs that year. Lewis' brother, Jack, Washington-based musician Karl Blau and drummer Anders Griffen soon joined them in the songwriting and recording process

Fans are probably already listening to the album, but because I sold them this T-shirt, I also get a CD sale within it. The odd thing about merch bundle prices is that they often seem to heavily downplay the first justification for bundling ( raising the value of each transaction ) in the hopes of achieving the second (better chart position). But those album prices are being steeply discounted in the bundles.

The Bundles' debut album contains those songs and five more, all of which are utterly charming and fall just the right side of twee - think late-period Velvet Underground if MoTucker had had equalbilling to Lou Reed. Streaming may finally be experiencing widespread adoption, but album sales (both digital and physical) continue to decline and artists are still looking for new ways to boost sales figures. In 2017, many artists employed a common strategy: the concert ticket/album bundle. Over the course of the year, 14 of the 38 albums that hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart were aided by ticket bundles. As Billboard points out, most of these albums experienced a dramatic sales drop in their second week.

But listening to The Bundles, one wonders why they felt these songs were due for a resurrection. As with most bursts of creative energy, The Bundles starts out strong; opener "A Common Chorus" has a Moldy Peaches-style two-songs-at-once verse that ambles toward the titular hook. Dawson's wizened warble and Lewis' world-weariness sit comfortably beside each other, and when they overlap for the tune's big payoff, it's nearly as satisfying as anything in either's vast catalog.

For Tina with Love.
In February 2001 I was living for a few months in Austin, Texas, and Kimya came to visit. We made up five songs that week and taped them with me on guitar and her on keyboard. Later, in 2002, we were on tour together in Germany, with my brother Jack on bass and Anders Griffen on drums, and we turned those five songs into full-band songs. We were playing in a cold, clammy basement venue and we were all bundled up in our sweaters and hats and scarves so the band became The Bundles. We wrote some new songs too. In February 2009 we got together to make some full-band Bundles recordings at Dub Narcotic Studios in Olympia, Washington. ... So on one hand this album took like two days to write and record, on the other hand it took eight years! See you again in 2017!
