Memory Tapes - Player Piano mp3 album

His second album, Player Piano, was released in 2011 via Something in Construction in Europe, Carpark Records in the . and Inertia in Australia. He was quoted as saying it would be "psychedelic girl group music". The music on the album reflected more of a "band" sound than his previous works, and also lacked their reliance on sonic saturation and obfuscation. Memory Tapes' first live performance was in Manchester, England, in January 2010 and he has since played in North America, Europe and Australia. The live shows in 2010 were with a drummer, Matt Maraldo, and a backing track

Player Piano offers enough of Hawk's characteristically inventive sonic tinkering - including, the title notwithstanding, an intriguing emphasis on organ sounds - to merit repeated listens, even if these productions do sound worrisomely flat at times. But juxtaposed with the singular alchemy he achieved on Memory Tapes' debut, it's hard not to hope Hawk focuses his energies a little differently next time out.

Reviews about Memory Tapes - Player Piano (4):
Jeronashe
This is another great record by Memory Tapes, but I've received two copies of the clear vinyl pressing (one as a replacement for the other) and both have identical pressing defects that result in tiny skips at various points on the A-side and a really awful looping skip at the end of A3. Curious if anyone else has encountered this or if there are in fact some clean copies out there...
Kirizius
I have the exact same problem (CAK64). The loop really bothers me, so I never really play this record..
Zavevidi
Yes, I went through several copies from Amazon before I finally gave up. And I've had problems with the Car Park label before. I could not get a flat copy of the 2nd Beach House record from them. They need to step up quality control. Pity, because Player Piano really sounds great on vinyl. I wonder if the import is skip free. BTW, my copies only skipped on one part, half way through A3.
Kearanny
yeah, I've gotten two copies of the clear vinyl as well and both have the same problems.
