Jungle Brothers - Jungle Brothers mp3 album

Jungle Brothers is an American hip hop group composed of Michael Small (Mike Gee), Nathaniel Hall (Afrika Baby Bam), and Sammy Burwell (DJ Sammy B). Known as the pioneers of the fusion of jazz, hip-hop, and house music, they were the first hip-hop group to collaborate with a house-music producer. The trio released their debut album, Straight Out the Jungle in July 1988. Their hip-house club hit single, "I'll House You" was added to the album in late-1988 reissues.

Profile: Jungle Brothers were formed in 1986 through the high school friendship of Brooklynite Nathaniel "Afrika Baby Bam" Hall and Harlem Natives Michael "Mike G" Small and Sammy "DJ Sammy B" Burwell. Though eclipsed in fame by their fellow Native Tongues members Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul, Jungle Brothers were the first out of the gate. Notes: The debut album from the Jungle Brothers, released November 8, 1988. The album was largely recorded without the use of a sampler (with the exception of the tracks "On The Run", "What's Going On", "Because I Got It Like That", and "I'm Gonna Do You").

The Jungle Brothers’ visionary debut not only gave us "I'll House You," a hip-house track that swapped B-boy poses for jacking and voguing; it also laid the foundation for years of jazz-sampling hip-hop to come. A cornerstone of the Native Tongues tradition, the album combines socially conscious Afrocentrism, as on positive, funk-flecked tunes like "Straight Out the Jungle" and "Black Is Black," with playful puppy-love anthems like Behind the Bush and goofy schoolyard jokes like Jimbrowski
