Peter Tosh - I'm the Toughest. Album: Peter Tosh (1978-1987), 2012. Bush Doctor is an album by Peter Tosh. It was released in 1978. A British record retailer banned the album upon its release because of a scratch-n-sniff sticker on its cover, that apparently smelled of ganja. Peter Tosh, born Winston Hubert McIntosh (19 October 1944 - 11 September 1987) was a reggae musician who was a core member of The Wailers who then went on to have a successful solo career as well as being a trailblazer for the Rastafari movement

Peter Tosh ‎– The Toughest. Awesome comp of difficult to track down tunes, including early versions of "Downpresser" "I'm The Toughest" "400 Years" and "Brand New Secondhand" which are worth the album price alone, and are more soulful and raw than their rerecorded 70s album appearances. Other tracks on the album are no filler either, rather a pleasant mix of early singles likely already familiar to wailers fans, but hard to find in one collection. Classic ska and rocksteady by a PT fronted wailers! Reply Notify me 1 Helpful.

The horns on "Moses - The Prophet" seem like sweetening, but the title track, "I'm the Toughest," "Stand Firm," and a remake of an old Wailers' track "Dem Ha Fe Get a Beatin," complete with I-Threes-style backing vocals, are some of Tosh's best songs. Only the original album's closing track, an ambitious but overwrought retelling of Genesis with Handel's "Messiah," is a major misstep. Yet even here, Tosh is pushing boundaries, adding bird and thunder sound effects to his soft guitar strumming accompaniment
