Funkadelic - Can You Get To That mp3 album
I wanna know) I want to know if you can get to that. Just as they did with Good Old Music on their previous album, Funkadelic revamp one of their earlier songs here, What You Been Growing , by The Parliaments. Frequently sampled (see Rill Rill by Sleigh Bells), and with its (proper) psychedelic-funk vibe-"Can You Get to That" is one of Funkadelic’s most notorious songs.
The title track to Funkadelic's third album is the sound of the spirit leaving the body. As the album's tentpole-containing, courtesy Eddie Hazel, an impossibly epic guitar solo-it casts a long shadow, quickly illuminated by "Can You Get to That," a gospel-funk masterpiece that travels to heaven and back in less than three minutes. Hit It and Quit It" confirms Hazel's rock-riff cred, and "Wars of Armageddon" is a gleeful bad trip through the end of the world, complete with hooting owls, crying babies, and wailing klaxons. A hugely flamboyant figure with multi-coloured hair and an eccentric persona, George Clinton helped create some of the most infectious, psychedelic funk of the 1970s. Raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, he moved to Detroit to become a staff songwriter for Motown in the mid-1960s, before finding success with his doo-wop group The Parliaments and their hit single (I Wanna) Testify. When a legal wrangle with Revilot Records threatened the future of the group in 1969, Clinton took off with his backing band and adopted the name Funkadelic.
