The Grand Ole Opry is a weekly country music concert show in Nashville, Tennessee which began as a radio barn dance on November 28, 1925 by George D. Hay and has since became one of the genre's most enduring and revered stages. Each show consists of multiple guest artists as well as Opry members, who are selected by Opry management based on several factors including critical and commercial success, respect for the history of country music and commitment to appearing on the program
The Grand Ole Opry is a weekly American country music stage concert in Nashville, Tennessee founded on November 28, 1925, by George D. Hay as a one-hour radio "barn dance" on WSM. Currently owned and operated by Opry Entertainment (a division of Ryman Hospitality Properties, In., it is the longest running radio broadcast in US history.
The label on the album on Program No. 10 reads "Grand Ole Opry Property of: WSM Nashville, Tennessee The Air Castle of The South". The sheet accompanying the ablum is dated 1964 and gives approximate minutes of each song performance with spirals for one minute commercials. Artists include: Bill Monroe, Maybelle and The Carter Family, Crook Brothers, Marion Worth, Hank Snow, Bill Monroe.
