Kim Wilde and Lawnmower Deth have recorded a seasonal holiday single (I’m deliberately not saying Christmas just to wind up all the loonies).
Lawnmower Deth vocalist Pete Lee’s reports that the single is the greatest project we’ve been involved in and adds: Working on a Christmas single together, some would say it’s the most bizarre juxtaposition since KLF and Extreme Noise Terror at the Brit Awards. I prefer a bunch of loveable chancers married with pure pop royalty
Kim Wilde is the eponymous debut studio album by British singer Kim Wilde, released on June 29, 1981 via the RAK label. The songs on the album were all written by Kim's father, the successful 1950s rock and roll singer Marty Wilde, and her younger brother Ricky Wilde and most of the music was played by the then current line-up of the symphonic rock band The Enid. Production duties were fulfilled by Ricky Wilde. The cover portraits were taken by renowned British photographer Gered Mankowitz.
Her debut album Kim Wilde repeated the success of the single, spawning two further hits in "Chequered Love" (Top 5 in the UK, France, Australia and Germany) and the UK-only single "Water on Glass". Wilde's follow-up album was 1982's Select, led by the hit singles "Cambodia" and "View from a Bridge". Both were number 1 hits in France and reached Top 10 positions in Germany and Australia. Wilde released her next studio album, Wilde Winter Songbook in November 2013. On 18 December 2017, Wilde released a Christmas single with Lawnmower Deth titled "F U Kristmas!". Wilde released her 14th studio album Here Come the Aliens on 16 March 2018. It was inspired by an encounter with a UFO she had in 2009.
