The New Scene of King Curtis is an album by saxophonist King Curtis recorded for the New Jazz label in 1960. The album features Nat Adderley who performed under the pseudonym "Little Brother" on the original release due to contractual restrictions.

Curtis Ousley (born Curtis Montgomery; February 7, 1934 – August 13, 1971), who performed under the stage name King Curtis, was an American saxophonist known for rhythm and blues, rock and roll, soul, blues, funk and soul jazz. Variously a bandleader, band member, and session musician, he was also a musical director and record producer

Reissue of New Jazz NJLP 8237 entitled "The New Scene Of King Curtis". Some copies came with long, silver Original Jazz Classics/ Fantasy distribution sticker on shrinkwrap. King Curtis, an influential and greatly in-demand R & B tenor-man, made relatively few jazz dates in his caree. aybe, maybe but this album is a jazz gemstone, catchy but relaxed, sometimes smooth but never slack, always so naturally flowing; nearly all tunes were written by himself and these are amazing bop or contemporary jazz piece. His take on "Willow Weep For Me" is one of the most cool and greatest I've ever heard.

Adoring King Soul may be a de facto renunciation of the main part of the rhythm & blues tenor saxophonist's career - his instrumental hits, indeed his very crucial role in the tenor saxophone remaining a viable voice on the hit parade.
