Author(s): Bruno, Frank. Title: Eye of the Tiger: My Life. He tells the inside story of his fights as well as how, from the launching pad of a terraced house in Wandsworth and a tearaway childhood, he established himself among the most popular personalities in Britain. Little, Brown Book Group.

Eye of the Tiger, p. 52-54. Soon after George and I had started working together Greg Page pulled out of our scheduled fight at Wembley on 24 March 1987, with a cut eye and James ‘Quick’Tillis was called in as a substitute. Tillis was a cowboy from Oklahoma, whose chief claim to fame was that he had been the first opponent to take Tyson the distance. During my ten-day stay at Grossinger’s training camp in 1983 I lodged in a log cabin alongside one that was occupied by Tillis and an unforgettable character called Jeff Sims. But Sims was unconventional and a law unto himself. I never tire of telling the following story on Sims, who remains one of the most incredible people I have ever met. I knew that he was something different from the first minute of our opening sparring session. I dropped him on the seat of his pants with the first right hand that I threw.

Watch 'Eye of the Tiger' in 'Rocky III'. Singer Dave Bickler recalls that when he heard what they had done in the studio, he knew that they were onto something. When we did the demo in Chicago, I thought that it would be a hit record. I said, ‘Frank, do we really need to recut this? We really got a good demo. Let’s just remix it, Peterik recalls. Eye of the Tiger has remained a prominent presence in pop culture over the years, still showing up in movies, TV shows and commercials. Survivor’s hard work paid off big time, and Peterik has zero regrets as he looks back at the Eye of the Tiger album all these years later. A lot of the stuff from the early to mid-’80s was really over-processed and digital delays," he notes. We learned a lesson from Ron Nevison.

Eye of the Tiger" is a song by American rock band Survivor  . The movie version also contained tiger growls, something that did not appear on the album version. It features original Survivor singer

Rising up, back on the street Did my time, took my chances Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet Just a man and his will to survive. So many times it happens too fast You trade your passion for glory Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past You must fight just to keep them alive. It's the eye of the tiger It's the thrill of the fight Rising up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor Stalks his prey in the night And he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger.

The One That Really Matters. I’m Not That Man Anymore. Children Of The Night. Ever Since the World Began. Rising up, back on the street Did my time, took my chances Went the distance, now I’m back on my feet Just a man and his will to survive. So many times it happens too fast You trade your passion for glory Don’t lose your grip on the dreams of the past You must fight just to keep them alive.
