Profile: Vicente Martin y Soler (or Vicent Martín i Soler, Valencia, May 2, 1754 - St. Petersburg, January 30, 1806), full name Athanasius Tadeo Francisco Martin Ignacio Vicente Martin y Soler Pellegrin, was a renowned Spanish composer international. Popularly known in Italy (Vincenzo) Martini Spagnuolo or what il Valenziano, and Ignaz Martini in Austria, was known primarily as the author of operas and ballets.

Mateo Romero (ca. 1575 – 1647) was a Belgian-born Spanish composer of Baroque music and master of the royal chapel. Romero was born as Mathieu Rosmarin in Liège, Belgium, and, following the early death of his father was, like many children from the then-Spanish Netherlands, recruited as a child to serve as a choir boy at the Madrid court.

This article uses Catalan naming customs: the first or paternal family name is Savall and the second or maternal family name is Bernadet. Background information. More recently Savall has performed with family members. The family ensemble has included his wife Montserrat Figueras (who died in 2011) and their two children, Arianna and Ferran 2016 - Honorary doctorate from Utrecht University. Juan Hidalgo de Polanco (Madrid, 28 September 1614 – Madrid, 31 March 1685) was a Spanish composer and harpist who became the most influential composer of his time in the Hispanic world writing the music for the first two operas created in Spanish. He is considered by many to be the father of Spanish Opera and of the Zarzuela. Hidalgo was born and died in Madrid
