The discography of Pink Floyd, a British progressive rock band, consists of fifteen studio albums, three live albums, nine compilation albums, four box sets, five extended plays, and twenty-seven singles. They are known for philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and elaborate live shows.
Definitely the best Pink Floyd album. That dark side of the moon was voted best album. Arguably the most personal album Roger wrote for the Floyd, certainly the most lyrically emotive and contains some of the best songs from their entire catalogue. If you're looking for an album concerned with honesty of expression and breaking new ground rather than over-produced musical trappings, this is one of the Floyd's very best. And with no exaggeration, you'd have trouble finding a more intimate vocal performance than Roger's from any singer in the world.
Pink Floyd is ranked number 3 in the overall artist rankings with a total rank score of 462,498. Members who like this artist also like: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and David Bowie. Good space rock with some classic albums. A solid entry-level band.

The album tells the story of a jaded rock star, with an elaborate stage set including a huge wall across the stage. The album prompted a feature film starring Bob Geldof. There was one further album, The Final Cut, before Waters left in 1983, announcing that the band was finished. Gilmour, Mason and Wright didn’t agree, and put out A Momentary Lapse of Reason four years later. The album did well, and was followed by The Division Bell in 1994, after which there was a long pause, before the reunion of Waters with the rest of the group for 2005’s Live 8 concert.
Pink Floyd Albums Ranked Worst to Best. Ultimate Classic Rock. As with so many classic rock bands, Pink Floyd has shifted and changed over the decades – with only its name, drummer Nick Mason and a sense of space-rock adventure as constants. Next: Top 10 Pink Floyd Songs. Filed Under: Pink Floyd.
Being the quintessential album rock band, Pink Floyd hasn't had much luck with "best-of" and "greatest-hits" compilations, like A Collection of Great Dance Songs and the bizarro follow-up, Works. There are many highlights on this collection: the inclusion of the Floyd holy grail "When the Tigers Broke Free," a sweeping Waters military dirge that has only appeared in the film The Wall, and the fascinating "Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Pts. 1-7," which has never before been released without the break in the middle (but conspicuously missing parts eight and nine).
