With Cometary Orbital Drive Acid Mothers Temple and The Melting Paraiso UFO immediately sink their teeth into a gnarly jam from the get go, a simplistic but tasty guitar riff leading the way for explorative space sounds and a confident striding bass rhythm that seems to be the real beating heart at the center of everything. The shifting soundscapes of Live In New Haven make it an extremely versatile album, with blistering solos, leads and instrumental breaks this is a must have for fans of face melting madness like Earthless or Heavy Blanket, but the slow burning energy of other tracks makes it a must own for fans of more mellow instrumental stuff like GOAT as well.

Free-form elucubrations in the acid mother's Temple, going round here and there. Speed rockers (Space Speed Suicide), a flame of some good old cosmic jokers Nishinihon (Born Free Stone Free), pinkfloidish retrospectives of samurai ancestors spirits (Skilful Grinning Skull). On the flip, random weirdness (Escape Horoscopes) ill blues (Babe, I'm Gonna Reave You) and finally the epic divine arc is eventually found, behind a wall of sound which brings up again the dark stars in the dazzling sky (In Search Of Lost Divine Arc).Tsuyamades a la Zoffy a go go here, with Koji's percussive bell riding, Kawabata on the bouncing noise with Tabata's heavy backing, as per recipe countoured by Higashi's cosmic whistles. Not the 'classic' obsessive riffs AMT, a different and more experimental approach is explored here as in other Important releases such as In 0 To Infinity. To me, except for the majestic title track, it sounds thin compared to other old shool live numbers, but deserves a listen.
